Violent Femmes appeared on "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert" on Tuesday night — and fans who hit the internet got an extra treat.

As an online extra, the band played one of its most durable hits, "Blister in the Sun." Singer/guitarist Gordon Gano took the lead, of course, with guitarist Brian Ritchie on an oversized guitar, and new drummer John Sparrow playing brushes on the lid of a Weber barbecue grill.

Violent Femmes is releasing a new album, "We Can Do Anything," on March 4. The band's tour starts May 2 at The Depot in Salt Lake City. Tickets, at $36 advance, go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. at Smith's Tix.
