For the better part of the week, the national media speculated just how hard the NFL would come down on Denver Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib for his deliberate face mask in the Super Bowl. Friday, the NFL answered.

The league announced it would fine Talib $26,044. This comes after Talib was penalized for taunting Carolina Panthers receiver Corey Brown and then slinging Brown out of bounds by his facemask at the three-yard line later in the drive. The fine will cut into the 30-year old's $102,000 Super Bowl bonus, one granted to all the Broncos players.

Talib was not the only Bronco to be fined, as defensive end Malik Jackson will have to pay $8,681.

According to the Denver Post, the Broncos were docked a total of $494,990 throughout the past season.
