At least four people were injured when a driver who was fleeing police wrecked with two other cars Wednesday night in Ogden.

Police tried to pull the driver over about 7 p.m. in the 500 block of 24th Street after discovering the Acura was not insured, officers wrote in a press statement. As officers walked toward the vehicle, the driver sped away.

Officers followed and found the vehicle with two others that had crashed near 24th Street and Interstate 15, police wrote. The passenger of the fleeing driver, a 28-year-old woman wanted on drug charges, was running away from the crash, police wrote. The driver, a parole fugitive who was convicted of theft and burglary among other charges, was hiding nearby; witnesses helped officers find him, police wrote.

A Chevrolet Lumina in the three-car crash rolled; the driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to a hospital, police wrote. Officers also took the two fugitives to the hospital to be treated for injuries, police wrote.

The driver of a Chevrolet truck involved with the crash also suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

The man and the woman who fled in the Acura are suspected of possessing meth when the crash occurred, and the driver is suspected of driving under the influence of meth.
