A West Valley City man was seriously hurt after crashing Monday night in Kearns.

About 8:15 p.m., a 51-year-old man was driving eastbound on 4700 South when his Suburban hit a cement barrier near 4000 West, said Unified Police Lt. Lex Bell.

The Suburban rolled into a ditch and the man was partially ejected, Bell added. The man, who was the only person in the Suburban, was taken to the hospital in serious condition.

The eastbound lanes and a westbound lane of 4700 South were closed while police investigated the crash, according to the Utah Department of Transportation.
