Two men were hospitalized for burns after a water hauler caught fire in Uintah County.

On Monday morning, a water hauler was transferring water from a tank west of Lapoint, a community in western Uintah County, when the hauler caught fire.

When firefighters arrived, they found the hauler fully engulfed in flames, according to the Uintah County Sheriff's Office.

Two men, ages 19 and 66, were taken in private vehicles to Uintah Basin Medical Center before the firefighters arrived. Both of them were later flown by medical helicopter to a Salt Lake City-area hospital to be treated for burns to their upper extremities, according to the sheriff's office.

As of Monday evening, the sheriff's office had not released their conditions.

The truck was completely destroyed. Investigators are looking into how the fire started.
