A fire damaged a vacant house Friday morning in Salt Lake City.

Neighbors reported the fire about 11 a.m. at an "abandoned" house at 1250 S. 900 West, said Salt Lake City fire spokesman Jasen Asay.

Thirty to 35 firefighters fought the fire and were cleaning up the site at about 12:15 p.m., Asay said.

All utilities had been shut down to the house, suggesting the fire is suspicious, Asay said. A chain link fence surrounded the house and a notice on the door showed it was unoccupied.

Investigators had not yet been able to go inside the house, Asay said. No injuries were reported.
