Council, Idaho • Idaho officials are seeking information about the illegal killing of a bull elk that had its head and antlers removed with the body left to rot.

The Idaho Department of Fish and Game in a statement Tuesday says the headless elk was discovered Sunday and was likely killed on Nov. 25 or 26. That's weeks after the bull elk hunting season ended.

Officials collected evidence at the scene and additional information is being sought.
