The Salt Lake County jail was locked down for several days after three unrelated incidents, but that restriction was lifted Monday morning.

The lockdown began around 4:30 a.m. on Friday morning, according to Salt Lake County Sheriff's Sgt. Cammie Skogg, when an inmate assaulted an officer. That officer was treated at a local hospital for minor head and neck injuries.

Then, before the lockdown was lifted for the officer assault, a nurse was scraped by a cuff port" when a prisoner pushed it open unexpectedly," Skogg said. Hours after that, an officer was spit on by a prisoner.

Skogg said the incidents were unrelated, but jail staff authorities chose to remain on lockdown through the weekend until they could evaluate the incidents on Monday morning. Skogg confirmed that the lockdown was lifted at about 7:30 a.m. on Monday.
