A big flush: 85 Pre-fab bathrooms up for auction on Tuesday

Veteran auctioneer Rob Olson hasn't sold anything like this before — 85 new, pre-fabricated bathrooms, the kind you'd find in a "man camp" out in the oil fields.

"We have sold a lot of items in our 39-year career, but never any bathrooms," he said of Tuesday's 11 a.m. auction at 3100 Wall Ave. in Ogden.

While it sounds low brow, the showers, tubs, sinks, toilets, faucets, tile floors and air-conditioner units have great worth. Olson placed their retail value at $800,000.

The materials may be inspected Monday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the sales site. They also may be seen on the Erkelens & Olson Auctioneers' website, http://www.salesandauction.com.

Questar takes full ownership of Wyoming unit

Questar has received regulatory approval to secure full ownership of the natural-gas wells in the Canyon Creek unit of southwestern Wyoming's Vermillion Basin.

Questar had owned a 70 percent working interest in those properties. But last December, Wexpro, Questar's exploration and production company, paid $52.7 million to increase its ownership interest to 100 percent.

The public service commissions in Utah and Wyoming now have approved that expansion, said Questar Chairman, President and CEO Ron Jibson.

"The winners serve to define the standards of the ski industry," said World Ski Awards Managing Director Sion Rapson, "inspiring others to raise the guest experience and stimulate new demand."

Stein Eriksen Lodge received two million votes from ski-tourism professionals and ski consumers in 127 countries. Roughly 160 properties globally vied for the award.
