If we judge by NBC's productions of "Peter Pan" and "The Sound of Music," the three-hour "The Wiz Live!" will be too long. But it's great that the network is presenting musical theater on live TV (albeit tape-delayed in this time zone) with an elaborately staged revival of this Broadway adaptation of "The Wizard of Oz," which won seven Tony Awards in 1975.
