Autumn, normally a time to start breaking out the cozy sweaters and warm drinks, has not exactly lived up to its reputation in northern Utah.

This meteorological fall so far — from Sept. 1 through Saturday — has been Salt Lake City's warmest since records began in 1874, according to the National Weather Service.

The capitol city is expected to see a mild day to finish the weekend. Salt Lake City can expect a high temperature of 70 on a cloudy Sunday, followed by 65 on Monday. St. George, meanwhile, will see highs of 73 and 75, respectively.

Meteorologists expect that there will be a chance for showers in both areas Sunday night and into Monday.

Air quality is healthy statewide, according to the Utah Division of Air Quality.
