A man walked away from a plane crash in Utah County with minor injuries Saturday. The plane, on the other hand, didn't fare quite so well.

The pilot, flying a small, single-engine aircraft, was re-seeding an area of private land near Elberta Saturday morning when his plane issued a stall warning, according to Sgt. Spencer Cannon with the Utah County Sheriff's Office. Though he was already flying low, he tried to drop altitude and gain airspeed.

The man was not able to recover, however, and the plane scraped the ground and crashed, Cannon said. The plane caught fire and was destroyed.

The pilot was able to get away from the plane with only minor scrapes, Cannon said.
