Most students at Brigham Young University will pay $150 more in tuition next school year.

The increase will cost about the same as the best seats available for November's Fresno State game.

The school announced Friday it will raise the yearly bill by just under 3 percent. For undergraduates, the cost will rise from $5,150 to $5,300. It's less than the cost of studying full time at the flagship University of Utah next year, which will be roughly $8,000.

The increase, about the same as last year's uptick, will go toward institution-wide needs, said university spokeswoman Carri Jenkins. "It's really across the board," she said.

Graduate students at BYU in the 2016-2017 academic year will see their bill rise a bit more, from $6,500 to $6,680. But it's not as high as tuition for law students and management graduate students, who will pay about $12,300 a year.
