Country star Garth Brooks has broken a ticket sales record for EnergySolutions Arena.
Officials for the Salt Lake City venue report that Brooks' world tour with Trisha Yearwood has eclipsed the arena's previous sales record — 66,501, from four sold-out shows Brooks played in July 1998, the last time he played at what was then called the Delta Center.
EnergySolutions Arena officials didn't say exactly how many tickets Brooks' 2015 stand — four shows, on Oct. 29 at 7:30 p.m., Oct. 30 at 7 and 10:30 p.m., and Oct. 31 at 7 p.m. — have sold so far. They did say that Brooks sold 61,000 tickets in the first two hours they were available on Sept. 25.
Some upper-bowl seats are still available for the late show on Oct. 30. Tickets are $74.98, limited to 8 per household, and available through the arena's website.
Concertgoers are advised to arrive early, particularly for the back-to-back snows on Oct. 30. Personnel will set up corrals at the three entrances on the arena's plaza, where early arrivals can be pre-screened by security. The corrals will have restroom access and vendors selling beverages.
On Oct. 30, the corrals will open at 5 p.m. for the early show, and doors will open at 5:30 p.m. For the late show, corrals will open at 9 p.m., but the doors are not expected to open before 10 p.m. (based on organizers' experiences with other Brooks shows).
The shows start promptly on time, and there is no opening act. Traffic is expected to be heavy, especially around 9 to 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 30, as the early show gets out and ticketholders for the late show start to arrive.
