Moraga, Calif. • Alexa Gray had 19 kills and a career-high 15 digs to lead the BYU women's volleyball team to a 25-20, 25-17, 25-22 sweep of host Saint Mary's on Saturday.

Ciara Parker had 14 digs for the 15th-ranked Cougars (15-2, 5-1 West Coast Conference), and Camry Godfrey Willardson added 30 assists.

"I'm proud of the way the team came out today determined to get better," BYU coach Heather Olmstead said. "Our communication was great in serve receive which helped us get into a nice offensive rhythm. I thought we also did a nice job defensively executing our game plan."

The Gaels dropped to 6-11, 1-6.

BYU returns home Thursday for a match against Gonzaga at 7 p.m. It is the annual Pink Game, and fans are encouraged to wear pink to support breast cancer awareness.

Dixie State 3, Hawaii Pacific 1 • At St. George, Delayne Daniel had 13 kills and 11 digs, and Taylor Duryea had 15 kills and nine digs as the Storm (8-8, 5-3 PacWest) picked up a 25-22, 18-25, 28-26, 25-23 victory over the Sharks (11-6, 6-3). Kailey Frei added 42 assists and 10 digs for the Storm. Dixie State has won five of six during its season-long seven-match homestand.

Utah Valley 3, Seattle University 0 • At Orem, Abby Jensen had 13 kills and Madison Dennison had 11 to help the Wolverines (8-9, 4-1 Western Athletic Conference) to a 25-17, 25-16, 26-24 sweep of the Redhawks (11-7, 3-2). Utah Valley posted a season-high .360 hitting percentage in the victory. Dennison led the way for the Wolverines with a career-best .846 clip (11-for-13).

Northern Colorado 3, Weber State 0 • At Greeley, Colo., Amanda Varley had 14 kills and Andrea Hale and Megan Thompson added six each, but the Wildcats (5-12, 1-5 Big Sky) were swept 25-20, 25-23, 25-23 by the Bears (7-12, 3-3). Weber State will remain on the road for matches at Northern Arizona and Southern Utah before returning home to play five consecutive matches.

SLCC 3, USU-Eastern 0 • At Taylorsville, sixth-ranked Salt Lake Community College (18-6, 5-1) swept the Golden Eagles 25-14, 25-17, 25-11. Andrea Brady had 17 kills for the Bruins, while Rachel Davis added 33 assists and 10 digs.

Cross country

Color Country Invitational • At the Cedar Ridge Golf Course in Cedar City, the individual winners were Utah Valley's Logan Petty in the men's 6-kilometer race (19 minutes, 20.90 seconds) and Dixie State's Skyler Storie win the women's 4K (14:35.70).

In the team results, Idaho State was the men's winner and second in the women's race, while Utah Valley was second in the men's race and won the women's. Invitational host Southern Utah was third in each and Dixie State took fourth in each.

Southern Utah's men were led by Koy Moore (19:29.10), who was the second individual finisher. Josie Brandow (11th, 15:16.70) was the fastest among the Southern Utah women.

Maverick Open • At Grand Junction, Colo., Westminster's Payton Schiff became the first Griffin to win a collegiate race, placing first in the women's 6K with a time of 21:39.

Westminster's women's and men's teams each took second overall.

Freshman Bronco Hollowell placed ninth in the men's 8K with a time of 28:44.

Swimming and diving

Colorado Mesa Invitational • Competing at the two-day event in Grand Junction, Colo., BYU's men lost to Air Force, 218-175, and defeated Colorado Mesa, 305-87. The BYU women defeated Colorado State (221.5-171.5) and Colorado Mesa (321-72).

Among the standouts for the BYU men was Jake Taylor, who won the 100-yard individual medley (50.53 seconds) and the 200 backstroke (1:48.97) and was part of the winning 200 freestyle relay.

In men's diving, BYU's Kevin Dreesen won the one-meter event with a score of 333.00 and BYU's Trayton Speth (260.30) took second.

For the BYU women, Ellie Thornbrue was on two victorious freestyle relay teams and also took second in the 500 free and third in the 200 butterfly.
