Police have jailed a Clinton man on suspicion of multiple felony child sexual abuse counts, and are asking any other alleged victims to come forward.

Corey Lee VanLare, 36, was being held in lieu of $50,000 bail in the Davis County Jail, on suspicion of two first-degree felony counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child, one first-degree felony object rape count, and two second-degree felony counts of forcible sexual abuse.

VanLare, who was arrested by Clinton police on Monday, is accused of molesting girls as young as 7 and 8 years old. Police began investigating him after one of the three alleged victims came to the station on July 13 to report the incidents, which purportedly included repeated genital contact.

In a probable cause statement accompanying VanLare's arrest, Clinton police Detective Zeke Swander wrote that the girl also provided leads to the other alleged female victims, some of whom said they had been propositioned, while "others disclosed sex offenses" going back a decade.

Police are asking that anyone who has additional information regarding VanLare to call them at 801-614-0800.

As of Thursday, the Davis County Attorney's Office was still reviewing the case in connection with filing formal charges.
