Brigham City's Peach Days, one of Utah's oldest and most popular festivals, hits its stride Friday and Saturday.

According to the Brigham Area Chamber of Commerce that sponsors Peach Days, the event began in 1904 to give workers a day off from the harvest while celebrating "an abundance of the best peaches in Utah."

Expect big crowds. Peach Days often draws 50,000 people to enjoy carnival rides, dozens of vendors, famous Scuba burgers, road races, classic cars, motorcycles and parades.

The event began Wednesday.

Friday's special events include a junior parade at 6 p.m. and a classic car show.

Saturday is the big day with the Fireman Association breakfast, softball tournament, a road race, a 10 a.m. parade, a 1 p.m. motorcycle show and belly dancing.

And, of course, few things say September than buying peaches at either Brigham City or along Fruit Way between North Ogden and Brigham City on the old highway.
