Aaron Tillett, a graduate of Ben Lomond High and Weber State, takes over as head coach for the two-time defending champions. But he has a bit of rebuilding to do, with only four returning starters on offense and none on defense.

"We have many slots to fill from last year's team," said Tillett. "However, our junior class was strong last year and has lost only two games in three years on the sub-varsity level. Our depth will be a real concern this year because we only have 11 players from our sophomore class last year. However, our 2015 freshmen and sophomores will be over 25 players each."

Tillett expects that a few sophomores will need to contribute immediately on the varsity level this season.

"We definitely feel the pressure of trying to repeat a third time as 2A state champions," said Tillett. "We know that all the 2A teams we play will be gunning for us. I see my primary job this season is to make sure that our team understands that winning is special and doesn't just happen. We need to approach this season with a chip on our shoulder and be willing to earn everything."

Last year's record • 11-1 overall, 6-0 in league play; won state 2A title.

Key returners • Running back Isaac Tillett and linemen Skyler McCormick, Coloton Crawford and Jared Blazzard return.

Player to watch • Running back Isaac Tillett provides experience on offense and should be the go-to player early.

Biggest hole • The team lacks experience, with only four returning starters on offense and none on defense.

Need to know • Coach Aaron Tillett was an assistant coach at South Summit for 10 years. Former head coach Jerry Parker returns as the offensive coordinator this year.
