A Unified Police officer was struck by a car while assisting West Valley City police in a car chase Wednesday in West Valley City.
The officer is believed to have suffered serious injuries while he was placing a spike strip while West Valley City police were chasing a suspect, according to preliminary reports from Unified Police.
West Valley Police later tweeted that the man had been struck by the vehicle being chased.
The exact location of the crash was not available.
