A Salt Lake City bicyclist died late Wednesday after a collision with a car, police reported Thursday.

Christopher Watson, 31, died at a hospital shortly after the crash.

At about 11:15 p.m. Wednesday, Watson was riding his bicycle west on 700 South. At 900 East, he collided with a car traveling south through the intersection.

Salt Lake City police Detective Veronica Montoya said Watson did not stop at the stop sign. There are no traffic controls for northbound and southbound traffic on 900 East at that intersection.

Watson was wearing a helmet.
