A partial weekend air conditioning-system failure on the University of Utah campus forced the school to cancel classes and programs Monday at eight locations.

U of U officials said further decisions to move or cancel classes are likely as repair work continues early this week amid daytime temperatures expected to top 100 degrees.

On Monday, class cancellations were ordered at the Life Sciences , Einar Nielsen Fieldhouse, Thatcher Chemistry, Eyring Chemistry, Biology, James Talmage and Alfred C. Emery buildings, as well as the Marriott Center for Dance.
