A boat carrying seven people capsized Monday night in Bear Lake, sending its occupants into the 112-square-mile lake's 56-degree waters.

As of late Monday, the search was concluded, but the conditions of the vessel's occupants were not known.

The boat capsized sometime before 8 p.m. Monday night, confirmed Utah State Parks spokesman Eugene Swalberg. Crews began searching for the seven people, and as of 8:30 p.m., had moved from the lake's North Beach in Idaho to the Bear Lake State Park marina in Utah, Swalberg said.

He confirmed late Monday that the search was finished, but could not comment on the status of any of the seven who had been in the boat.

The Tribune will report further information as it becomes available.
