A 5-year-old West Valley City boy was in good condition Wednesday, the day after he tumbled through a third-story window screen and fell, breaking his leg and pelvis on an air conditioning unit below.

West Valley City police spokeswoman Roxeanne Vainuku said the child was playing with a friend in his bedroom about 8:50 p.m. Tuesday, at a unit of an apartment complex at 5261 W. Peak Run. When he leaned against the window screen, it gave way.

He reportedly was taken to the hospital for treatment and kept overnight as a precaution.
