A Kaysville man died Sunday afternoon in a motorcycle crash in Wasatch County.

Conor S. Wilson, 23, was traveling westbound on Highway 40 when he apparently struck the rear trailer of a slow-moving semi, which was hauling a loaded double tanker, according to the Utah Highway Patrol. The crash occurred about 2:40 p.m., just east of Jordanelle Reservoir.

"It appears the motorcyclist didn't recognize the semi's slower speed on the highway's incline," UHP said in a news release, adding that troopers do not think excessive speed was a factor in the crash. "There were no signs the motorcycle tried to slow down or move to another lane."

Wilson was wearing a helmet and riding gear, UHP reported.
