Fort Worth, Texas • Utah's Georgia Dabritz will cap her dominant season Sunday when she competes in the uneven bars individual competition.

Arguably, though, she has already won the title as the nation's best on the event this year.

Dabritz earned a 10 on the bars in Saturday's Super Six competition, becoming the first gymnast to earn a perfect score on the event in the NCAA preliminary and Super Six rounds.

The 10s give Dabritz seven for her career on the event, tying Theresa Kulikowski for the most perfect uneven-bar scores in school history.

Dabritz has been almost unbeatable on the uneven bars this year, winning the event in 10 of 12 meets, finishing the season ranked No. 1 and winning the NCAA region title.

Nevertheless, earning back-to-back perfect marks is a remarkable feat in any meets — especially at the NCAA Championships, where the scores are historically tight.

She is the only gymnast to earn a perfect score here this weekend.

Speaking before Saturday's meet, Dabritz was hopeful she could bring home a title.

"If I go out and do what I've been doing, I should be in good position," she said.

Ashley Postell was the last Utah gymnast to win a national title, doing so in 2007 on the balance beam.

Her biggest competition for the title will come from a familiar foe in Florida's Bridget Sloan. Sloan won the title last year, while Dabritz finished in second. Sloan is ranked behind Dabritz, at No. 2.

Oklahoma's McKenzie Wofford and LSU's Reagan Courville, who are tied for third, also qualified.

Dabritz also qualified on the floor, and freshman Kari Lee qualified on the vault and floor.

Vault could be the most wide-open competition, since none of the gymnasts who finished in the top five qualified, including No. 3 Dabritz.

UCLA's Samantha Peszek is ranked No. 1 on the beam and will be the favorite there.

LSU's Lloimincia Hall, who finished the regular season ranked No. 1 on the floor, failed to qualify, but the field is still a strong one; it features several of the gymnasts who finished the regular season ranked in the top 10, including ninth-ranked Dabritz.
