A motorcyclist died Saturday night after he and a Ford Explorer collided in Taylorsville.

The victim, 30-year-old Marin Saul Tio Juarez, was driving eastbound on 4700 South when the westbound Explorer turned left in front of him to get on Interstate 215, said Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal. The crash occurred at 8:44 p.m.

Juarez, who lived in the city, was taken to the hospital but died a short time later. He was not wearing a helmet, Hoyal said.

The 18-year-old who was driving the Explorer was not hurt, the lieutenant said.

The crash remains under investigation.
