Wildlife officers want the public's help to identify whoever poached two young deer near Huntington.

On March 16, two young bucks were shot and left to waste on Stump Flat Road, west of the Emery County town, according to the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources. Investigators suspect the animals were killed sometime between 11 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

"Poaching is a serious crime that robs sportsmen and other wildlife enthusiasts of the opportunity to legally harvest an animal or to view it in its natural habitat," the division said Wednesday in a news release.

Anyone with information about the poaching is asked call a hotline at 1-800-662-3337. A reward is available for information leading to a conviction, and the division honors requests for confidentiality.
