Salt Lake City police have released surveillance photos of the suspects who allegedly beat a bouncer outside a downtown bar.

About 2 a.m. Sunday, the 29-year-old bouncer apparently came to the defense of two female customers being harassed by the suspects at Maxwell's East Coast Eatery, 357 S. Main St., when he was attacked.

The bouncer, having determined two male patrons were out of line, approached them and told them to leave. Instead, one man attacked the bouncer, soon joined by two more. Possibly joined by others, the suspects then dragged the bouncer outside the bar and continued to beat him.

He was taken to the hospital in serious condition, and has since been released and is improving at home, Detective Cody Lougy said Wednesday.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call SLCPD at 801-799-3000.
