A 23-year-old woman was taken to a hospital after stepping in front of a FrontRunner train just south of the American Fork station at about 1:20 p.m. Thursday.

The woman was in a crosswalk when the northbound train hit her, said Utah Transit Authority spokesman Remi Barron.

Because the train was approaching the station, it was not going fast, Barron said.

The woman's condition was not immediately known, but she was conscious as she was being taken to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, Barron said.

The track was cleared about 3 p.m. and normal service resumed.
