A Weber County man suffered multiple skull fractures after he crashed a dirt bike Thursday.

The 31-year-old was driving the dirt bike north on 200 East in Washington Terrace. About 2:24 p.m., the rider arrived at the intersection of 4700 South.

Weber County Sheriff's Lt. Lane Findlay said witnesses reported the man almost missed the turn, then accelerated while turning. The bike fishtailed and ejected him.

The rider was not wearing a helmet, Findlay said. Besides the skull fractures, Findlay said, the rider suffered broken ribs and possible bleeding on his brain. He was transported to a hospital in critical condition.
