Police on Wednesday were looking for a 78-year-old man who hadn't been seen since Tuesday, when he drove away from where he was staying in South Salt Lake.

Darwin Daniel Allred suffers from dementia and recently has spoken about returning to his home in Price, said South Salt Lake police spokesman Gary Keller. But neither his family nor investigators have seen him at the Price home since he left South Salt Lake at about 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Allred was driving a red 1992 Dodge Dakota Truck with Utah plate number 845FMN. He is 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 200 pounds.

Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of Darwin or his truck may call police at 801-840-4000 and refer to case number 15G000584.
