Toure' Murry finally got into the books Saturday night.

A day later, he's off of the roster.

The Utah Jazz on Sunday waived the second-year combo guard, clearing a roster spot that sources say will be used to bring guard Elijah Millsap up from the D-League.

With injuries to Alec Burks, Rodney Hood and Patrick Christopher, the Jazz have been in search of help at the wing and Murry apparently was not in the team's plans going forward.

Millsap, a 6-foot-5 wing player, is the brother of former Jazzman Paul Millsap. In 19 games with D-League Bakersfield this season, the younger Millsap is averaging 20.6 points, 8.3 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 2.1 steals.

Murry signed with Utah this summer after spending his rookie season with the New York Knicks. At that time, New York had expressed interest in re-signing him and he also received looks from the Miami Heat. But in Utah, Murry found himself at the end of coach Quin Snyder's bench. Twice he was sent to the D-League and it wasn't until Saturday night that he made his debut with the Jazz — logging a single minute of playing time.

According to a source, the Jazz went looking for a trade partner for Murry. When one didn't materialize, Utah waived the guard to trim the roster down to 14 players.
