The University of Utah's football and basketball teams weren't the only Beehive State sports teams in Las Vegas last weekend.

Some of Utah's top high school basketball teams participated in the Tarkanian Classic, an invitational tournament pitting some of the top schools in the western United States together in platinum, premium and select divisions depending on ranking.

Four-time defending 5A Utah champion Lone Peak defeated Bountiful to capture the third-place consolation title in the platinum division, where the top teams were seeded. The Knights' Frank Jackson and Christian Popoola were named to the all-tournament team.

Bingham defeated Logan to win the premier division championshp. The Miners' Yoeli Childs, Lleyton Parker, Mike green and Jared Holman and Logan's James Larsen, Saxton Andersen and Tyler Brimhall were named to the premier division all ttournament team. Orem also beat Timpview Saturday in this division.

Utah's Summit Academy lost to Rock Canyon, Colo., in the third place game in the select division.
