Students from Pleasant Grove High School get a big public venue this weekend: Singing on the stage of Abravanel Hall with Kurt Bestor.

Pleasant Grove's choir won the second annual Kurt Bestor High School Choir Scholarship Contest, receiving a $1,000 scholarship provided by Mountain America Credit Union.

Springville High School took second place. Orem High School came in third, and Syracuse High School came in fourth. All three schools received $500 in scholarship money.

The Pleasant Grove choir, which won based online voting and experts' opinions on a video posted to Bestor's Facebook page, will perform the closing number with Bestor on his Saturday evening show at Abravanel Hall. (Bestor performs tonight and Friday night, and two shows on Saturday.)
