Unified Police detectives are asking for the public's help in identifying a man who robbed a Millcreek area Chase Bank on Wednesday evening.

The suspect, a white male in his late-20's — wearing a fake orange beard — entered the Chase Bank inside the Smith's Grocery Store at 3215 S. Valley St. (3300 East) at about 7 p.m. on Wednesday.

The man entered the bank for a few minutes, left, returned and approached a teller.

He presented a note as if he was going to make a transaction, then lifted his sweat shirt to brandish a black semi-automatic handgun and demanded money.

The man fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. No vehicle was seen. No one in the bank was injured.

The suspect, who is described as being of medium build, was wearing a black hat, black and yellow fingerless gloves, denim jeans and a grey hoodie.

UPD officers searched the area thoroughly, but were unable to locate the man.

"We are releasing the suspect's photo in hopes that members of the public will recognize and/or know who the suspect is," said Lt.

Justin Hoyal in a press release.

The suspect is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about the bank robbery or the identity of the suspect is asked to call the UPD at 385-468-9814.
