Unified Police are looking for suspects in an apparent gang-related shooting that left a Taylorsville apartment riddled with bullets early Monday morning.

UPD Lt. Justin Hoyal said officers responded to several 911 calls of gunfire at the Atherton Park Apartments complex, 4545 S. Atherton Drive, just before 12:30 a.m. Monday.

"As officers were checking the area they located an apartment window with multiple bullet holes in it," Hoyal said. "Officers made contact at that apartment and found that a 15-year-old male was in that room when the shots were fired."

The boy, who was unharmed, told police he heard a knock at the window followed by numerous gunshots fired through the window.

Detectives were working to develop suspect descriptions.

"We are still trying to determine a motive, but it is believed to be gang-related," Hoyal said.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call UPD at 801-743-7000.
