Travelers who love art and Zion National Park may want to check out a new exhibit at the St. George Art Museum, 47 E. 200 North. The exhibition, called "A Century of Sanctuary: The Art of Zion National Park," opens Monday and runs through Jan. 24. It's part of the 100th anniversary of Zion National Park in 2009 and is billed as the most comprehensive exhibit of Zion art ever shown. It showcases 74 paintings and photographs tracing the history of art in Zion Canyon beginning in 1870 and covering each decade since then. Works by Thomas Moran, Maynard Dixon, Ansel Adams, Frederick Dellenbaugh, Jack Hilliers and Gunnar Widforss will be on display. In addition, a juried exhibit featuring 68 works of contemporary Zion art will be part of the exhibit. For details, log on to www.sgartmuseum.org.
