The H1N1 vaccine is offered for free. Department spokeswoman Katie Mullaly anticipates that more doses will arrive on a weekly basis. As it becomes available, the health department will work with health care providers to distribute vaccine to those who are at highest risk for getting H1N1. These individuals include:
» Pregnant women
» Household contact of those six months or younger
» Children age 6 months to 24 years
» Those under the age of 64 with chronic medical conditions
» Health care workers with direct patient contact
