The Utah Grizzlies (26-21-2-5) pounded the Stockton Thunder 7-1 Wednesday at the E Center behind Lance Galbraith's hat trick and three assists.

Utah raced to a 4-0 lead by 11:06 in the second period and Stockton (24-20-2-6) only could counter with a goal of its own.

Galbraith has been outstanding in his last 14 games, scoring 10 goals and 10 assists while the team has gone 8-3-0-3 in that stretch.

"I'm just happy to be a part of a winning hockey team," Galbraith said. "I'm happy to score tonight but ... but obviously [my teammates] can have all my goals if they add up to W's."

Stockton entered Tuesday's game on a 7-1-2 run but Utah has put a halt to that success with 12 goals and dominant play throughout Wednesday's game.

Stockton goalie Andrew Perugini is third in the league with a 2.57 goals against average but was battered by eight scores in just less than 41/2 periods of work against Utah this week, pulled part way through the second period Wednesday. His replacement, Aaron Sorochan, faired no better, seceding four scores in 32 minutes of work.

Utah showed its depth with 11 different players scoring a point. Tony Romano scored two goals and added an assist and Tom May added one assist and one goal.

Trades and players leaving for the AHL has slowed Utah's chemistry this season, but the team's lines are taking shape and gaining consistency with the final third of the season underway.

"We were making a lot of trades before and it was kind of hard to establish a team identity when you don't really know the guys next to you," May said. "We've kind of bonded pretty well as a team now."
