Two third period goals -- including Tom May's game-winner at 6:49 -- pushed the Utah Grizzlies (12-4) past the Alaska Aces 2-1 on Wednesday at the E Center.

Alaska (8-8-2) scored in the first period, but failed to add to its lead, going 0-for-6 on the power play.

The come-from-behind-win was Utah's second in as many games after the team fell behind 1-0 to Las Vegas in the first period on Sunday.

"We don't get frustrated," coach Kevin Colley said. "We just go out and work at it and get the job done."

Tomas Kana created the deficit against Utah when he broke out of the penalty box in the second period, received an instantaneous pass, and crossed the blue line, charging the goal all by himself. Utah goalie Mitch O'Keefe blocked Kana's shot, but Colin Hemingway snatched up the rebound and netted the puck.

The Grizzlies did everything they could to score in the second period short of tackling goalie Scott Reed, putting 20 shots on net. Time after time, Reed saved Utah's best tries.

Utah finally broke through at 1:53 in the second when Chris Brooks scored. May's goal came shortly after to put Utah in the lead. Alaska pulled its goalie during the second minute of a power play that started at 17:27 in the third, blitzing Utah with a six-on-four skater advantage. Utah continually iced the puck and eventually the game.

In short

The Utah Grizzlies erase a 1-0 deficit by scoring twice in the third period and winning on Tom May's wrister.
