WEST VALLEY CITY - The Utah Grizzlies' Wednesday night duel vs. Victoria exemplified just how their season's gone in recent weeks: Starting out strong . . . but coming up short in the end.

After posting its best ECHL start (5-2) in early November, Utah's faced plenty of adversity since losing key players. Leading scorer Ryan Kinasewich is still inactive due to injury, and forward Evan Kotsopoulos is currently serving a nine-game suspension. Nonetheless, it's no surprise Victoria took advantage of the short-handed Grizzlies in its 4-2 win at the E Center.

Utah lost for the sixth time in seven games

"I thought the guys played fairly well," coach Kevin Colley said. "Just a couple of breakdowns cost us."

There were many encouraging sings for Utah (7-8 overall) early on. Tom May's goal 14 minutes into the first period got the Grizz off to a good start - usually a good sign, as they were 3-0 when scoring first at home.
