Dining out: Area restaurants offer Easter specials

Don't want to make the ham and scalloped potatoes this year? Many Utah restaurants will be serving special Easter meals on Sunday. Here is a sampling of what's open.

Salt Lake County

Avenues Bakery, 481 E. South Temple, Salt Lake City; 801-746-5626. Brunch is served from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Prices range from $2.95 to $10.

Baxter's American, 13 N. 400 West (The Gateway), Salt Lake City; 801-456-8999. Sunday brunch is available from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. In addition to its regular brunch menu, which includes waffles, French toast, biscuits and gravy and six different versions of eggs Benedict, the restaurant will offer a ham steak and eggs special. Prices range from $6 to about $14.

Boulevard, 2335 E. Murray-Holladay Road, Holladay; 801-274-6999. Seatings from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Menu choices include breakfast breads, omelets, crepes, French toast and eggs Benedict with either ham, crab, salmon or petite Angus tenderloin and the grand dessert buffet. Reservations are required; $29.95 for adults and $15.95 for children 12 and under.

Cafe Trio Cottonwood, 6405 S. 3000 East, Holladay; 801-944-8746. Buffet served from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Adults $22.95; children 6 to 10, $12.95; children 5 and under free. Regular menu available for dinner from 4 p.m. to close.

Cafe Trio Downtown, 680 S. 900 East, Salt Lake City; 801-533-8746. Regular brunch menu and plus holiday specials available from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Prices vary. Regular dinner menu available 3 p.m. to close.

Fleming's Prime Steak House and Wine Bar, 20 S. 400 West (The Gateway), Salt Lake City; 801-355-3704. Three-course dinner available from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Includes choice of starter, entree and dessert. Options include filet mignon Benedict, bone-in ham steak with maple glaze and blue crab quiche. Costs is $28.95 per person. Regular menu also available.

Franck's, 6263 S. Holladay Blvd., Holladay; 801-274-6264. Offering a four-course brunch from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Menu includes pan-seared sea scallops, eggs Benedict with lobster, braised beef short ribs and brioche French toast. Cost is $49.95. Reservations are required.

Grand America, 555 S. Main St., Salt Lake City; 801-258-6707. The Easter brunch buffet will be available from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Cost is $52 for adults and $26 for children. Reservations are required.

La Caille, 9565 Wasatch Blvd., Sandy; 801-942-1751. Holiday brunch from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. A variety of entree choices ranging from $19 to $24. Includes fruit, breads and dessert. Complimentary "Jelly Bean" buffet for children. Reservations are required.

Little America, 500 S. Main St., Salt Lake City; 801-596-5792. Sunday brunch in the Grand Ballroom available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cost is $38 for adults and $16 for children 11 and older, children 4 and under are free.

Log Haven, 6451 E. Millcreek Canyon, Salt Lake County; 801-272-8255. A four-course feast from noon to 5 p.m. Fixed-price menu is $36.95 for adults and $19.95 for children 12 and under. Reservations are required.

Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort, Little Cottonwood Canyon; 801-933-2181. Easter brunch is served in the Atrium Restaurant from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the Aerie from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Both restaurants are located in the Cliff Lodge. Reservations are recommended. Aerie buffet features assorted sushi and sashimi, bone-in ham, smoked seafood platter and pan-seared red snapper. Cost is $35.95 for adults and $19.95 for children 6 to 12. The Atrium menu features sautéed black pepper shrimp, assorted sushi, three pepper-crusted prime rib and waffles with fresh strawberries and cream. Cost is $29.95 for adults and $15.96 for children 6 to 12.

Tuscany, 2832 E. 6200 South, Holladay; 801-277-9919. Four-course meal available from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. including choice of braised pork shank, sea bass, prime rib and grilled chicken on penne. Cost is $39.95 for adults and children 12 and under $19.95. Reservations are required.

Logan

Hamilton's Steak & Seafood, 2427 N. Main St.; 435-787-8450. Holiday buffet open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Includes omelet and dessert stations. Cost is $27 for adults; $12 for children. Reservations are required.

Ogden/Eden

Snowbasin Ski Resort, Ogden Canyon; 801-620-1021. Brunch is served from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Huntington Room in Earl's Lodge. Includes breakfast items, fresh salads, seafood, several meat selections, pasta and desserts. Cost is $30 for adults and $25 for youths 6 to 12. Children 5 and under free.

Wolf Creek Resort, 3900 N. Wolf Creek Drive, Eden; 801-745-3737. Buffet brunch will be served in the Pineview Lodge from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cost is $29 for adults; $12 for youths 5 to 12. Children 4 and under are free.

Park City/Midway

Blue Boar Inn & Restaurant, 1235 Warm Springs Road, Midway; 888-650-1400. A five-course brunch is served from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cost is $40 for adults and $15 for children 12 and under. Entree choices include honey-glazed duck with couscous, smoked salmon Benedict and house-baked brioche toast with vanilla Grand Marnier syrup. Reservations are required.

Fanny's Grill at the Homestead Resort, 700 North Homestead Drive, Midway, 888-327-7220. From 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. the restaurant will offer a special country-style ham dinner with mashed potatoes and gravy, soup or salad, vegetables and roll. Cost is $14.95 for adults and $7.95 for children.

Grub Steak, 2200 Sidewinder Drive, in Prospector Square, Park City; 435-649-8060. Brunch is served from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Menu includes carved meats, cold and hot buffets, made-to-order omelet and crepe station, cheese, breads, salads, fruit and desserts. Price is $23.75 for adults; $10.75 for children under 10. Reservations are suggested.

Simon's at the Homestead Resort, 700 N. Homestead Drive, Midway; 888-327-7220. Buffet includes a meat carving station, seafood and desserts. Available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cost is $35 for adults. Reservations are required.

Provo

Foundry Grill at Sundance Resort, Provo Canyon; 801-223-4220. Brunch is served from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Includes spit-roasted lamb and prime rib, marinated ham and wood-fired chicken; seafood, assorted cheeses, fresh fruit, salads, eggs Benedict and a variety of cookies, cakes, pies and other desserts. Cost is $48 per person. Reservations are required.
