Dining notes: Café Rio wins award
Café Rio, a quick-serve Mexican restaurant based in Utah, was awarded the "Quick Track Award of Excellence" for customer satisfaction from Sandelman and Associates. The honor is given only to the best performing restaurants in the nation and is based on quality of food, service and value. Café Rio, which first opened in 1997 in Salt Lake City, was rated "excellent" in every category.
Lugano turns 10
Celebrate the 10th anniversary of Lugano on March 17 with an "Evening in Napa Valley." Winemakers from Steltzner and Viader vineyards in Napa will host the six-course chef's tasting dinner at the restaurant, 3364 S. 2300 East, Salt Lake City. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with dinner at 7 p.m. Cost is $59 per person, optional wine pairings are an additional $45. Call 801-412-9994 for a reservation.
Caputo's now serving dinner
Tony Caputo's Market & Deli, a popular downtown lunch spot at 314 W. 300 South, now serves dinner Tuesday through Saturday from 5 to 9 p.m. Besides the signature salads and sandwiches, Caputo's By Night, serves hot entrées and classic Italian pasta dishes, prepared by chef Mikey Larsen, Tony's brother.
