$6.35, $7.65 » This dish is crazy big. Part cultural and economic phenomenon, part hangover cure, this Hawaiian dish comes with plenty of starch: two scoops of white rice and a strangely comforting macaroni salad. The seasoned hamburger patties resemble breakfast sausage more than a Whopper and that's a good thing since they need to stand up to runny fried egg yolks and a dousing of glossy brown gravy.

To healthy souls, it's borderline abomination. But for revelers who have reveled a little too hard, it's unbeatable succor.

L&L Hawaiian Barbecue is at 358 S. 700 East, Salt Lake City; 801-596-8300. Hours are M-S, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
