People Plus: Jennifer Hudson to make first public appearance since tragedy

Jennifer Hudson was announced to be among the Grammy nominees who'll sing the songs of Neil Diamond at February's MusiCares Person of the Year gala, People.com reports. The Grammy week event could mark the first public appearance of the "Dreamgirls" Oscar winner since the tragic events in late October, when her mother, brother and nephew were killed in Chicago. Other performers include Tim McGraw, Coldplay, Josh Groban and Foo Fighters, Raul Malo and Adele, reports Variety. The 51st annual Grammy Awards will be Feb. 8 at L.A.'s Staples Center.

'CSI' star: Never say never

"CSI: Miami" star Eva La Rue convinced herself she never wanted to marry again -- until she changed her mind, according to People.com. "I told him, 'I'm looking for a long-term companion, but I don't see the sense in getting married again,'?" La Rue, 42, says about her first date with businessman -- and now fiancé -- Joe Cappuccio.

Spade gives guns to Phoenix police

David Spade, the onetime Phoenix resident, donated $100,000 so the Phoenix Police Department can buy approximately 50 AR-15 rifles. Spade said he wanted to make the donation after seeing a TV news report about officers having to buy their own rifles. Spade graduated from Arizona State University.
