Spending less than $10 for a meal can be a challenge these days. But Sakura offers some respite for lunch, minus the fast-food grease. Not only is the $8.95 lunch an extraordinary value -- you get a California Roll, tuna and salmon nigiri and another, determined by what's freshest -- but the quality is consistently better than any supermarket take-out sushi. That should make anyone happy.

Sakura Sushi is at 1615 S. Foothill Drive, Salt Lake City; 801-583-3363. Hours are Monday to Thursday, noon to 2:30 p.m.; 5 to 9:30 p.m.; Friday to Saturday, noon to 2:30 p.m.; 5 to 10 p.m.
