Kevin Donovan, the executive chef at Log Haven restaurant, will be leaving his post at the end of October. He has accepted a job at Park City Mountain Resort, overseeing the dining program which includes Legends Bar and Grill, the Mid-mountain and Legends Lodges as well as several cafes and smaller eateries. Donovan, an avid outdoorsman who enjoys biking, skiing and backpacking, worked at restaurants in Orlando and Denver before taking the Log Haven post in the spring of 2007.

The dining options have expanded at both the University of Utah and Brigham Young University campuses. At the U., students, faculty and staff are getting a taste of Italy with the recent opening of Tony Caputo's Happy Hour Cafe in the new Carolyn Tanner Irish Humanities Building. Italian sandwiches, salads and pastas are served weekdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Hungry diners at BYU's Marriott School of Management now can eat to the Blue Line Deli and Market. The cafeteria-style eatery, named after the subway line through New York City's financial district, is part of the new addition to the Tanner Building. It offers a rotating menu of sandwiches, soups and hot entrees.

Visit Acme Burger Co. on Monday nights between 6 and 10 p.m. for NFL football on the big screen and the restaurant's new "Mini Madness" menu. The special includes ³packs² and ³cases² of mini burgers made with bison, lamb and beef, as well as shoestring fries and Utah draft beers. A 6-pack costs $12.50, a 12-pack is $25 and a case is $50. The restaurant is located at 275 S. 200 West, in downtown Salt Lake City.

Enjoy small plates and cold Utah-made brews during Woktoberfest at the Mandarin Restaurant, 348 E. 900 North, Bountiful. From Oct. 13 through 24, the Chinese restaurant will sell small plates such as Peking baby back ribs, curry spring rolls and spiced shrimp. Prices range from $1.49 to $7.99 each.
