Learn to navigate using a map and compass at the REI in Sandy on May 8 at 7 p.m. There will be instruction in the classroom with basic concepts then will end with an exercise outside the store.

1-800 Contacts is holding a 5K/10K challenge on June 21. The 5K starts at 7:30 a.m. near 1300 S. Wasatch Drive, with the 10K beginning at 8 a.m. in Research Park by the University of Utah. Both races will finish at Sugar House Park. The 5K costs $20 to $25 in advance and $30 on the day of the race, and the 10K costs $25 to $30 in advance and $35 the day of.
