Peregrine cam back online

Peregrine falcons are back in downtown Salt Lake City, and there is a long-view camera, a nest-camera and a microphone - rigged up by officials from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - to keep people connected to the raptors nesting on the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. Go to www.wildlife.utah.gov to visit the peregrine cam.

Great Salt Lake Bird Festival

A reminder that the 10th annual Great Salt Lake Bird Festival is May 15-19. The festival is a great way for beginning birders and youngsters to get involved. Some field trips still have openings. Details are available at www.greatsaltlakebirdfest.com.

Park gathering

Mountain Man Rendezvous

Fremont Indian State Park and Museum in Sevier is hosting a mountain-man rendezvous May 9-11. An organized group of mountain men and women will be set up in the park. Visitors can watch shooting competitions and flintknapping demonstrations and buy handcrafted items. A park entrance fee is required. Call 435-527-4631 for more information.
