Bill Fenimore, owner of the Layton Wild Bird Center and author of several guide books as well as the Bird Sightings feature in The Salt Lake Tribune, was recently honored by the American Birding Association with the Ludlow Griscom Award for Outstanding Contributions in Regional Ornithology.
The award is one of five annually presented by the American Birding Association to individuals dedicated to the cause of birds, birders and birding.
Fenimore joins many important contributors to American ornithology, including first award recipient, Roger Tory Peterson, who received the honor in 1980. Peterson is credited with publishing 52 volumes of the "Peterson Field Guide Series."
